The life-cycle model of saving with uncertain lifetime and borrowing constraint;: characterization and sensitivity analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper investigates the characterization and sensitivity analysis of the life-cycle model of saving with uncertain lifetime and borrowing constraint first formulated by Yaari [Review of Economic Studies 32 (1965) 137–150]. Under mild conditions, terminal wealth depletion is shown to be an intrinsic property of the model. A three-step procedure for the sensitivity analysis is presented. While the presence of an endogenous wealth depletion time complicates the sensitivity analysis, incorrect and misleading sensitivity results will be obtained if the existence of terminal wealth depletion is ignored. 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Application of Life Cycle Assessment for Techno-Economic Evaluation of Rural Solid Waste Management Strategies: Significance of CO2 Emission Control from Waste Management Sector in Abyaneh Village, Isfahan Province
Waste disposal in the current situation, which quantity and variety of waste are increasing, needs not only effective management principles but also depends on environmentally-friendly methods to put as less environmental footprint as possible. This study aims to assess the energy consumption, emission of greenhouse gases and air pollutants which normally produce during various waste management...
متن کاملSensitivity analysis of parameters affecting carbon footprint of fossil fuel power plants based on life cycle assessment scenarios
In this study a pseudo comprehensive carbon footprint model for fossil fuel power plants is presented. Parameters which their effects are considered in this study include: plant type, fuel type, fuel transmission type, internal consumption of the plant, degradation, site ambient condition, transmission and distribution losses. Investigating internal consumption, degradation and site ambient con...
متن کاملMore Results on Dynamic Cumulative Inaccuracy Measure
In this paper, borrowing the intuition in Rao et al. (2004), we introduce a cumulative version of the inaccuracy measure (CIM). Also we obtain interesting and applicable properties of CIM for different cases based on the residual, past and interval lifetime random variables. Relying on various applications of stochastic classes in reliability and information theory fields, we stu...
متن کاملA new low cycle fatigue lifetime prediction model for magnesium alloy based on modified plastic strain energy approach
Nowadays, the technology intends to use materials such as magnesium alloys due to their high strength to weight ratio in engine components. As usual, engine cylinder heads and blocks has made of various types of cast irons and aluminum alloys. However, magnesium alloys has physical and mechanical properties near to aluminum alloys and reduce the weight up to 40 percents. In this article, a new ...
متن کاملUncertain lifetime, life protection, and the value of life saving.
The analytic innovation is treating life's end as uncertain, and life expectancy as partly the product of individuals' efforts to self-protect against mortality and morbidity risks. The demand for self-protection is modeled in a stochastic, life-cycle framework under alternative insurance options. The model helps explain the trend and systematic diversity in life expectancies across different p...
